How to Compare Cosplay Robe Lengths Before You Buy

Ask for robe measuring points, plan the hem with your footwear and check room for the costume underneath.

A long robe can define a cosplay silhouette, but a photograph does not tell you where its hem will fall on you. Before choosing a size, separate three questions: how the robe is measured, where you want it to finish and what you will wear underneath. A height range in a size chart cannot answer all three.

Ask for the garment length and its measuring points

The HEROCOS Anakin Skywalker costume listing shows a long, hooded outer robe from the front and back. Use those views to judge the shape, then ask for the robe’s actual length in the size and fit option you are considering. Do not estimate it from the mannequin or the edge of the photograph.

A useful answer includes both a number and the measuring method. Does the length start at the shoulder, the back neckline or another point? Does it end at the centre-back hem or a different part of the garment? Keep the unit with the answer. Two lengths measured from different starting points are not directly comparable.

This listing has size references, but the existing notes flag a body-versus-finished-garment labelling ambiguity in the source charts. Confirm how the relevant chart should be used; do not treat its height column as the robe length. This guide does not recommend a numerical size or claim that the garment has been fitted on a particular wearer.

Choose the hem position with your footwear in mind

Decide where you want the hem to finish while wearing the footwear planned for the outfit. Describe that position in your enquiry rather than asking only for “floor length.” If you have a long coat or robe already, use its hem position as a practical comparison and note what you would change.

Think about the route you will walk as well as the photograph you want. A hem that trails on the floor will need different handling from one that clears it. Avoid relying on holding a long garment up for an entire event, especially if you will also carry a bag. Ask about any possible length adjustment before assuming it is available for the selected product.

Check sleeves and the layers under the robe

Tell HEROCOS which layers you intend to wear underneath. A robe worn over a shirt presents a different question from one worn over several costume layers and a belt. Ask about the relevant shoulder, chest and sleeve dimensions and the intended fit, rather than automatically moving up a size for extra length.

Look at how the sleeves meet your hands and where you expect to reach a bag opening. Ask for a closer view of any fastening that is unclear. The photographs show the overall design; they do not prove that the robe has pockets, a particular closure or enough room for every planned layer.

Keep a short comparison note

  • The product link, fit option and size being considered.
  • The confirmed robe length, unit and measuring points.
  • Your intended hem position and footwear.
  • The clothing underneath and any sleeve or fastening question.

Use that note when comparing the Star Wars costume collection. Once your costume arrives, follow the movement checklist for the separate task of rehearsing the complete outfit. For missing garment dimensions, contact HEROCOS before choosing a size.
